Randall (Randy) Brooks

Randall (Randy) Joseph Brooks, 74, of Deadwood, SD, passed away suddenly on November 25th, 2022 at the home of his son in Spring Hill, TN.

Randy was born in Tampa, FL to Wilson Eugene Brooks and Marian Guy Colvin on January 3rd , 1948.  He was married to, and later divorced, Brenda Dee Bonnett of Algona, IA.  He worked much of his life in a wood mill, but later became a pizza maker at the Nugget Saloon in Deadwood, SD. He was a proud Veteran of the Navy and served on the U.S.S. New Jersey in (Vietnam). He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with 1 star and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Randy is preceded in death by his sisters: Penny Hansel, Jean Brinson, Rose Brooks and Ann Brock.

Randy is survived by his son, Benjamin Bonnett-Brooks (Louise), his brothers, John and Tim, his grandchildren, Emily and Cavan, and his nieces and nephews.

Randy’s greatest loves were his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his family, his country and his friends. Randy wished to be cremated and given his deep connection with the ocean, there will be a memorial and celebration in Panama City Beach, FL on February 18th, 2023.

Memorials may be made in Randy’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
