Thomas “Thom” Richard Scott, 56, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on Oct. 1, 2026, in Nashville, TN.

Thom was born in Bloomington to Boyd Scott and Amanda Burda (née Fagan) on July 22, 1970. He attended Downers Grove North High School in Downers Grove, Illinois, and later graduated from Indiana University, where he then worked in IT with a team of “fantastic” coworkers and administrators for nearly 30 years.

Thom was a talented artist, specializing in sci-fi and fantasy art, and was an avid roleplaying and computer gamer. He was hired to illustrate comic books, card games, and book covers. Thom also loved to cook, with an affinity for Asian recipes, and when not in the kitchen, was often watching cooking shows and cooking videos.

He wed wife Lisa (née Siegel) in June of 1995, and they were married until her untimely passing in 2007.

Along with Lisa, Thom is preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Gloria Scott, and James and Betty Fagan, his father, Boyd Scott, as well as his uncle Dale Scott, and cousin Jarrod Scott.

He is survived by his mother Amanda Burda (Dennis), brother Bart (Wendy), nephew Sean, and nieces Maya and Macy.

Thom will be interred with Lisa at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington, Indiana. Arrangements are by Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home in Spring Hill, TN.
