Ronny G. Brown, of Spring Hill, TN passed away September 2, 2026 at the age of 82 years old.

Ronny was born at home on March 7, 1944 in Pottsville, TN. He graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1961. He was voted the wittiest and best personality of his graduating class. He was a highly respected Professional Land Surveyor. He started his business in 1978 and held an office on the square in Downtown Franklin, TN for 40 years, where he was well known, respected and loved. He retired from Ronny G. Brown Surveying in 2018. Even through his official retirement, he maintained the required continuing education, to retain his active license with the State Board of Examiners for Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors in the State of Tennessee until his death.

Ronny, also known as “Pops” by his grandchildren, deeply loved his family and friends. He loved to attend as many sport events and recitals as possible. He coached the Little Misses Softball team in Spring Hill for many years, and he loved watching University of Alabama football in the Fall. As a young adult, he had a love for fast cars. He earned the nickname, The Spring Hill Flash. He was the biggest cheerleader and encourager to those around him. He loved to tell life stories, especially to the younger generations. Once you got him started, he would think of and tell more family stories from childhood through adulthood. He had the best laugh, warmest hands and hugs, and the kindest words of faith and promise.

He was known for his given and practiced gifts of mercy and grace. His greatest treasure was the love of his life, Peggy. Peggy was his best friend, wife and confidant. He found overwhelming joy in building a life together with her. They were married for 62 years. In his season of retirement, he loved taking Peggy to quilt shows and shops. If it brought Peggy joy, it most certainly brought him joy. They began a hobby of collecting vintage Singer Sewing machines. He had an origin story for every machine they restored together. Peggy also helped Ronny keep all his stories accurate and less embellished. Ronny had an eye and love for antiques. There was always a fine line between his antiques and his broken old “collectibles”. He and Peggy debated the fine line of his antiques often.

Ronny was born in his family’s home, on their family farm in 1944. He was called home to be with the Lord in the home he had built with Peggy, with his family by his side. A home with a tractor you could find him on regularly. A home with a large firepit for all the trees and brush he gathered from tending their farm. A home that leaves a legacy beyond words, and an essence of his presence everywhere you look.

Ronny is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Holt Brown; his children Corky (Sunday) Brown, Suzanne (Dennis) Holden and Brian (Stacee) Brown; his grandchildren Matthew (Addie) Brown, Mackenzie Brown, Hayden (Jeff) Iwanciw, Brown (Emma) Holden, Sophie Holden, Coben Holden, Nui Brown and Koa Brown; his great grandchildren Kara Dygert, Kyler Victory, Tavis Victory, Samantha Brown, Charlotte Brown, John Houston Brown and Oliver Iwanciw; his great grandchildren Beau Dygert and Juni Holden; brother-in-law Dusty (Donna) Holt. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Murry “Jim” and Charlene Brown and his infant sister Shirley Ann Brown.

The family extends their love and thanks to Dr. Bobby White, Dr. Natalie Spradlin and the staff of Aveanna Hospice for their care and support.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 4-7pm and Thursday, September 10, 2026 from 1-2pm, followed by the funeral service at 2pm. Visitation and funeral will be held at Spring Hill Memorial Park at 5239 Main St., Spring Hill, TN 37174, officiated by Pastor Dave Brown and Jeff Boggs.
