Spring Hill
Roland Henry Bourke III, of Warwick, Virginia, passed away on August 30, 2026, at the age of 71 after fighting a three-year battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Born on April 22, 1955, Roland lived a life marked by devotion to his family, dedication to his work, and a steady commitment to caring for others.
Roland attended St. Francis University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He went on to build a long and distinguished career spanning 30 years with Ingram. He began in 1978 at Mon Valley Transportation, a division of Ohio Barge Line. In 1985, after Ingram purchased OBL, Roland moved to Ohio River Company, a division of Midland Transportation. In 2002, he relocated to Nashville after Ingram acquired Midland. Throughout the many chapters of his career, Roland was known for his reliability, perseverance, and willingness to put in the work wherever he was needed.
Among Roland’s proudest accomplishments was the way he lived his life. He always put others first and cared for those around him, helping to meet both their physical and emotional needs. That generous spirit shaped the way he moved through the world and will remain one of the clearest and most lasting memories for all who knew and loved him.
Above all, Roland treasured his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Denise Costanzo Bourke. He also leaves behind his daughters and sons-in-law: Elizabeth Bourke Dooley and Sean Dooley, Jennifer Bourke Schmidt and Nathan Schmidt, and Deanna Bourke Kimble and Sebastian Kimble. His love extended deeply to his grandchildren, Nora and Ava Dooley, Molly and Link Schmidt, and Jude, Silas, and Charles Kimble, each of whom brought great joy to his life.
Roland is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Nancy Bourke and Jamie and Pamela Bourke; and by his sisters Pauline Silvers and her husband, Ed Silvers, and Deborah Bourke. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Pauline Bourke; and his brother, Kenneth Bourke. He will be remembered with love by his family and by all who were touched by his kindness, strength, and selflessness.
A funeral service will be held at Catholic Church of the Nativity, 2793 Buckner Ln, Thompson's Station, TN 37179. May Roland Henry Bourke III be remembered for a life well lived, for the care he gave so freely, and for the enduring love he shared with his family.
