Obituary

Robert Gordon Street, Jr.

May 23, 1941 – July 15, 2026

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Robert Gordon Street, Jr., who entered into the presence of his Lord on July 15, 2026, at the age of 85.

Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose quiet strength, unwavering faith, and boundless kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Introverted by nature, he wasn't the loudest person in the room, but those who knew him best understood his gentle spirit and appreciated his quiet sense of humor. He had a remarkable way of making everyone feel accepted, valued, and loved.

Robert dedicated 37 years of his career to Sprint, where he worked as an engineer before retiring in 2003. He was happiest when he was building something with his hands or spending a peaceful day fishing. He found joy in creating, solving problems, and appreciating the simple blessings of life.

His greatest joy, however, was his family. Robert and his beloved wife, Mary, shared 57 beautiful years of marriage. To anyone who knew them, it was obvious that he thought the sun rose and set on her. Their love was steadfast, faithful, and a shining example of lifelong devotion.

He was a loving father to his daughter, Angela, and a proud grandfather to Robin, Gabe, and Sam. Nothing mattered more to him than the people he loved, and he showed that love every day through his quiet presence, unwavering support, and gentle heart.

Robert is also survived by his sister, Barbara (Preston) Sprouse, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were blessed to know him.

Robert lived his faith every day. His compassion, humility, and acceptance of others reflected the life he believed God called him to live. His legacy is not only in the things he built or the years he worked, but in the lives he touched through his kindness, grace, and unconditional love.

To his daughter, he was more than a father—he was her hero.

He was deeply loved, and his absence leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew him. We will miss his gentle smile, his quiet humor, his steady presence, and the love he gave so freely. Though our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the gift of his life and the example he set for all of us.

He will be missed every day, remembered always, and loved forever.
