Mr. Robert Donald "Buddy" Sanford, age 82, of Columbia, TN passed away January 30, 2016.
Donald was a graduate of Bethesda High School and attended the University of Tennessee, and served 2 years in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 27 years of service with the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Donald was a member of First United Methodist Church of Columbia, TN, Owen Hill Masonic Lodge #172 at College Grove, Al Menah Shriner, Fraternal Order of Police , American Legion Post 19, and Elks Club 686 Columbia, TN
Donald was born July 6, 1933 to the late Albert Arch & Gladys Isom Sanford in Williamson County, TN. He was also preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Sanford.
Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Katherine Owen Sanford; sons, John K. (Judith) Evans and Joe G. (Bettye) Evans; 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 1, 2016 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, Rev. Chip Hunter & Rev. Melinda Britt officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Franklin, TN. Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Brown, Robert McAdams, Dennis Satterfield, Kenny Ballinger, Otis Steele, Harold Meador, Harvey Isom, Bill Isom, David Wise, Bob Montgomery & Mitch McClure. Honorary pallbearers are Liz Satterfield, Michelle Ballinger, Don & Erma Carrell, Tom & Tonya Lucas, Bill & Molly Ammons, Mary Neil Wise, Allean Wallace, Kimmie Nance, Peggy Truelove, Jean Clark, Oneida Hanson, Gail Warren, Carolyn Dodson, Donna Montgomery, Sabrina Steele, Ralph Swift, Gail McClure, Sonny Cummins, Don and Patty Taylor, Mike and Sherry Brown, Lisa Vaughn, Claude Brawner, the Class of 1951 Bethesda High School, employees of Lucas Chevrolet, retired & active members of the TN Highway Patrol, members of Owen Hill Masonic Lodge, FOP Columbia 686 and Dr. Charles Ball & Staff.
