Robert Joseph Ariganello, of Spring Hill, Tennessee, passed away on August 23, 2026, in Spring Hill at the age of 79. He was born on October 16, 1946, in Wilmington, Delaware.

Bob built a long and accomplished career as a mechanical engineer, working for Scott Paper Co., Pillsbury Foods, ACH Foods, and the Hershey Co. over 44 years. He was a dedicated professional who truly loved his work as an engineer, bringing an engineering mindset, steady leadership, and deep commitment to those around him. He was respected by his employees and coworkers alike for being hardworking, honest, and dependable.

He was educated at Salesianum High School and the University of Delaware, where he received a Mechanical Engineering degree and a Master’s degree in Business. His education and natural curiosity served him throughout his life, and he remained someone who loved to read, research, and spend time on his computer.

On June 19, 1976, he married Amy G. Lawton in Aston, Pennsylvania. Their marriage was a lasting source of love and family pride. Bob loved God and reading his Bible, and his faith was very important to him. He was involved in First Presbyterian Church and carried his beliefs with quiet strength throughout his life.

Bob was a quiet, generous, soft-spoken man with a dry wit and sense of humor that those closest to him knew well. He was loving, respectful, resilient, and very hardworking. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather, and he loved his family deeply. He was proud of his wife, children, and grandchildren, and he especially enjoyed playing with his grandkids. He was also very handy and good at fixing things, a gift that reflected both his practical skill and thoughtful nature.

He found joy in many interests throughout his life. He loved sailing and the beach, watching soccer, and spending time with family. He enjoyed science fiction, especially Star Trek and Star Wars, as well as action movies and crime shows such as NCIS and Law & Order. He also loved cars and enjoyed reading car magazines and Consumer Reports.

Bob is survived by his wife, Amy Ariganello; his son Dan Ariganello and daughter-in-law Joelle Ariganello; his daughter Megan Martinez and son-in-law Anselmo Martinez; his brother Ron Ariganello and sister-in-law Judy Ariganello; and his grandchildren, Darcy Ariganello, Santiago Martinez, and Lucas Martinez. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph and Helen Ariganello.

His family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Thomas Ratliff, Dr. R. Dixon Dorand, Jr., Dr. Kenneth J. Niermann, Catherine R. Benson, nurse practitioner, Dr. John W. Coursey, Dr. Gaylon Harris, the staff at Adoration Home Health, the staff at TN Oncology, and the staff of Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center for their care and support.

Visitation will be held on September 2, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Memorial Park, Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 5239 Main St., Spring Hill, TN 37174. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with interment at 1:00 p.m., also at Spring Hill Memorial Park, Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Robert Joseph Ariganello will be remembered for his faith, his devotion to family, his steady work ethic, and his quiet humor. His life was marked by love, integrity, and the simple joy he found in learning, building, and being with those he loved.
