Olga James

Olga Vickers James, age 83 of Birmingham, AL passed away August 18, 2019. Olga was always active in her local church. A loving wife, mother and proud Big Mom and Memaw. She was an avid fan of Alabama football and Olga's passion was making all things beautiful. Olga lived large, gave cheerfully and loved Big as the Sky. Survived by: husband of 64 years, Leo James of Birmingham, AL; daughters, Patti (Rick) White of Franklin, TN and Pam James Travis of Birmingham, AL; sister, Betty Vickers Manasco of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Carrie White (Matt) Roden, Jamie Elliott (Ryan) Miningham, Tori White (Derek) Jones, Joy Travis and Hope White (Mark) Fields; great grandchildren, Sophie, Will, Lillie and Lucie Roden, Leo, Ellie and Georgia Miningham, Zoe, Lincoln and Charlie Jones. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Son in law, Rick White will officiate. Interment Southern Heritage Cemetery. A Celebration Gathering with Olga's family will be at the Marriott, 3590 Grandview Parkway, Birmingham, AL immediately following the service. The family request no flowers but rather that you would share special time with those you love and give thanks for all the blessings of life.
