Mrs. Edith Early

Mrs. Edith Early, a longtime resident of Spring Hill, TN and Pleasant Hill, TN, died peacefully on December 30, 2014, after a long illness.
Edith, a Kansas farm girl, the youngest of six children of Oliver and Lola Whitney of Phillipsburg, KS, was trained as a Nurse. In 1948 she married Erskine Early. They enjoyed 61+ years of happy marriage while building the family business, Early's Honey Stand, in Spring Hill, TN, before retiring and moving to Pleasant Hill, TN in 2001. They were longtime members of the Thompson's Station Methodist Church in Thompson's Station, TN and the Crossville Church of God in Crossville, TN. In retirement the "Main Event" in Edith and Erskine's life was their many camping trips across the US, Canada and Mexico in their RV.
Survived by her son, Stephen Early of Vancouver, WA, and three grandchildren, Samuel Early of San Diego, CA, Joseph Early of Seattle, WA and Martha Early of Brooklyn, NY.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM-1:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2014 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, 5239 Main St. Spring Hill, TN, followed by the service at 1:00 PM. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Franklin, TN.
In Lieu of flowers, donations in Edith's memory may be made to a fund which assists seniors in need, in the Cumberland County, TN area. Make checks payable to "URV" and in the memo line write "Alice Adshead Fund" and send to: Uplands Retirement Village, P.O. Box 168, Pleasant Hill, TN 38578.
