Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Smith Neal, age 82, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Arbors in Spring Hill. She was the loving wife and life partner to Joe Taylor Neal until his death May 20, 2008.
She retired from CPS Industries in Franklin, TN. Any spare time was spent with yard work and farming. She also loved dancing with her husband and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Annie Hazelwood Smith; brothers and sisters, Joe "Buster" Smith, Willie Mae Smith Skinner, William "Will" Smith, Sarah Smith Hatcher, Riley "Bear" Smith, Dorothy "Bird" Smith McNeely, Ruth "Pretty" Smith McNeely, Aaron Smith, Leonard Smith and Jean Smith.
She was mother to Jolene (Carson) Walls, Andy (Lori) Neal and Janice (Monroe Robertson) Neal. Grandmother to Tara Neal (Brad) Thompson, Brett (Hillary) Neal, Colin (Mallory) Walls, and Mahlory (Chris Gaddes) Miller. Great-grandmother to Connor Thompson, Braden Thompson, Alivia Thompson, Lucy Kate Saylor and Everett Neal. She is also survived by one sister, Ivie Smith Rummage Eubank and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be conducted 1:00PM Friday, February 26, 2016 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home. Jim Taylor officiating.
Interment Spring Hill Memorial Park. Visitation 3-7PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Pallbearers will be Blackie Smith, Bubba Skinner, Danny Smith, Tommy Smith, Mitchell Rummage, Steve Hatcher, Kenneth Pitts and Tommy Haskins.
