Larry England

September 16, 1948 — November 4, 2017

Larry England, age 69 of Columbia, TN passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his bedside on November 4, 2017. Born in Williamson County, TN to the late Arnold Lee England and Ada Mae Fields England. Larry was one of 9 children. A 1966 graduate of Franklin High School. Larry was drafted in the U.S. Army and fought bravely in the Vietnam War earning several medals and citations including 4 purple hearts. He was a part of the Mechanized Infantry in the Big Red One Division. Upon his return home, he met and later married the love of his life, Karen Jones England. They enjoyed a great life together raising their family. Larry was a surveyor mostly for Adams and Company Land Surveyors for 40 years until he retired in 2015. He was a member of Spring Hill's Volunteer Fire Department during the late 70's and 80's. He also enjoyed building picture frames and operated a small framing business from home in Neapolis, TN. He always loved helping people, working in the yard and working on one of his many trucks. Preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Karen Jones England in 2015; infant daughter, Heather England. Survived by his sons, Cory Matthew England and Todd Alan England; grandchildren, Cadin, Gracie, Matthew, Clayton and Robbie England; brothers, Charles (Ann) England and Ken (Mary) England; sisters, Carol (Mickey) Petty, Martha (Mike) Westmoreland, Linda Nelson, Susie (Tim) McKennon, Kathy Anderson and Debbie (Johnny) Ratliff; several nieces and nephews, and many loving extended family members and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, Craig Evans officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment in Spring Hill Memorial Park with military honors. Members of Spring Hill Fire Department will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Miller, and past members of the Spring Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
