Kathleen Welborn Gable

Kathleen “Kathy” Welborn Gable, age 73, of Spring Hill, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 26, 1951, in Madisonville, Kentucky, to the late Francis Carmen and Elizabeth Gardner Welborn.

Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was marked by compassion, service, and love. A faithful member of Southhall Church, she lived her life with kindness and a strong spirit of giving. Kathy dedicated 12 years to teaching special education, where she touched countless lives with patience, understanding, and encouragement.

Family was the heart of Kathy’s world. She cherished every moment with her daughters and adored her grandchildren, always finding joy in their laughter and accomplishments. Kathy also had a deep love for animals, she delighted in watching birds from her window and shared a special bond with her beloved dogs, Sammy and Jesse, who brought her endless comfort and companionship.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael Welborn and William “Bill” Welborn Jr., and sister, Lisa Wicks.

Those left to cherish Kathy’s memory are her husband of 53 years, Franklin “Brad” Gable; daughters, Catherine Duggar (Dean) and Cindi Westmoreland (Daryl); grandchildren, Caitlyn Renee Godfrey, Crislyn Kaye Briney, Ashlyn Faye Hendryx, Kylie Lynn Westmoreland, Chase Westmoreland, Haylee Elizabeth Duggar, Dion Duggar, Logan Duggar, and Justin Tyler Yocum; and one great-grandchild, Reese Andrew Godfrey.

The care of Kathleen “Kathy” Gable and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home.
