Katherine “Kathy” Louise Watkins, 72, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, following complications from Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s disease.

Kathy was born in Spring Hill, Tennessee, to Clyde and Elise Yancey. She graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1973 and later earned an associate’s degree in business from Columbia State Community College.

Throughout her life, Kathy was known for her strong work ethic, creativity, reliability, and honesty. She built a diverse and accomplished career that reflected her many talents. She began working as a seamstress at Weather Tamer Clothing and later worked as a typesetter for several printing companies. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish her own design business, Graphic Solutions, as well as a wallpaper company formerly known as Wallpaper for Less, which later became Charming Accents. Kathy also shared her talents as a kitchen designer and customer service associate at The Home Depot in Spring Hill.

Kathy had a natural gift for creativity and design. She enjoyed sewing, designing, making wedding cakes, and creating beautiful spaces for others. She also loved traveling and making memories with the people she loved.

More than anything, Kathy treasured her family and friends. She was a dependable and caring person who was always willing to lend a helping hand—to a friend, a family member, or even an animal in need. Her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others were qualities that defined her. She especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, who brought her tremendous joy and countless treasured memories.

Kathy is survived by her son, C. Brandon (Miranda) Watkins; daughter, Amanda K. Watkins; grandson, Elam Watkins; granddaughters, Seren Watkins and Nicole Watkins; and great-granddaughter, Skylar Watkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Elise Yancey; her husband, Charles Larry “Bull” Watkins; her brother, Jimmy Langley; her sisters, Joanne Drake and Betty Collins; and several half-brothers and half-sisters.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends and family members who provided love, encouragement, and support during Kathy’s illness. Special thanks are extended to the staff of Willow Springs Memory Care Facility and Alive Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Kathy and her family.

Though she is deeply missed, Kathy’s love, kindness, and memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held at a later date, with details to be announced by the family.
