Eugene "Gene" Gunn Daly

Eugene “Gene” Gunn Daly, age 76 of Spring Hill, TN passed away on

September 24, 2026. He was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late George & Louise Daly.

Gene was an Eagle Scout and worked as the waterfront director at Camp Clyde (Parker Scout Reservation) in Central Minnesota. Gene received his bachelor's degree as well as his master’s degree from the University of Minnesota, where he also excelled as an athlete in track and cross-country. In recent years he organized reunions for former U of M cross country teammates as well as former Camp Clyde staff members from his time there. Gene had a 28-year career at Motorola where he was the director of quality and logistics for the Latin American two-way radio division.

In his free time he enjoyed golfing, running and walking. Gene especially had a passion for Civil War history and enjoyed attending Civil War Round Table meetings at Carnton Plantation in Franklin, TN. Gene also enjoyed pulling for his favorite sports teams. Above all else, Gene was proud of the life he built with his wife, two sons, their spouses and two grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debbie Daly of Spring Hill, TN; sons, Ryan (Dorothy) Daly of Argyle, TX and Patrick (Rebecca) Daly of Coconut Creek, FL; granddaughters, Joanna Daly and Kate Daly; brothers, Bill (Rose Blesener) Daly of St. Cloud, MN and Ken Daly of St.Cloud, MN; sisters, Martha (Mike) Dennis of Seattle, WA and Perry (Gary)Steffens of Anchorage, AK and many other loving family members.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 11:00am with visitation from 9:30am to 10:30 am at Wellspring Christian Church in Spring Hill, TN. Andy Hudelson & John Mills will officiate.
