Eleanor Bankes

Eleanor Vela Bankes, beloved of the Lord, departed the home she shared with her loving husband, Gary Dean Bankes, in Thompson's Station, TN on April 16, 2018, at the age of 76. Eleanor, who was born in Augusta, GA to Lewis and Vela Pyke, is survived by her devoted husband of fifty years; children and their spouses, Laurie and Vinny Legg, David and Becky Jones, and Dean and Barbie Bankes; grandchildren, Steven and Ryan McKnight and Ashley Bowen, Adam Lofton and Whitney Vaughn, and Tristan and Aidan Bankes; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Carl Pyke, and grandson, Andrew Jonathan McKnight. Pastor Dr. George Grant will preside over a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 AM on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parish Presbyterian Church.
