Dan B. Merrill III

Dan B. Merrill III, age 56, left this world far too soon on August 7, 2025, in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Born to the late Dan Merrill and Adrian Sutera Merrill in Las Vegas, Nevada, Dan was one of four children and the only son in the family.

From an early age, Dan displayed remarkable musical talent. Blessed with an excellent singing voice, he also mastered the trombone and kept perfect time on the drum line during his marching band years. A devoted fan of Star Wars and Star Trek, he was fascinated by the mysteries of space and what lay beyond our world.

Dan’s creative spirit extended to the visual arts. He found joy in painting and was an enthusiastic art collector, particularly drawn to the work of a Nashville artist whose creations held special meaning for him.

In his professional life, Dan dedicated himself to his role as Customer Service Manager at Mitsubishi. He took great pride in his work, his colleagues, and the company’s stellar reputation for excellence, helping them become known for providing the best customer service in the industry.

Family was always central in Dan’s life. He maintained a close connection with his sisters, moving from California to Tennessee with his sister, Mindi Towns. His sister, Julianna Sassenburger, and her husband, Bill Sassenburger, shared a special bond with Dan, Bill even stayed with him during his travels for a book tour.

Dan is survived by his sister, Adrian DuBose; brothers-in-law, Charlie Bonzagni and Bill Sassenburger; nephew, Chris Bonzagni; and cousin, Ariella Ziv. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Mindi Towns and Julianna Sassenburger.
