Betty C. Parham

Longtime Spring Hill resident, Betty C. Parham, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, left us peacefully today, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 99 years old, born June 13, 1927 and died July 1, 2026.

Born in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma to the late William M. Coley and Alta Coley, Betty was the devoted and loving wife of Harry M. Parham, with whom she shared decades of beautiful memories until his passing in Columbia, Tennessee 21 years ago.

She was preceded in death by her brother Vernon Coley and her sister Margarette Sheppard in addition to her parents.

She is survived by her daughter Winifred P. Hughes and her husband James Hughes. Her grandchildren, Jim (Beatriz) Hughes, Lee (Drew) Hughes, David (Danielle) Hughes and Great grandchildren, Harrison Hughes, Luci (JD) Hartin, Harper Hughes and Alessa Hughes and Sister-In-Law Billie Parham.

Betty was a devoted wife and mother. She and Harry lived in various homes in Macon, GA, Atlanta, GA and Spring Hill, TN. She was also an astute business consultant as a real estate agent in Atlanta’s Northside Reality and later co-owner of Parham Farms, a specialty cattle farm in addition to running home and hearth.

She was a voracious reader and was always found reading her Bible or the latest novel. She was a longtime member of Beech Grove Church of Christ before moving to Georgia. She loved the Lord and spoke often of wanting to be in heaven.

She has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Beech Grove Church of Christ benevolent fund.

Her Committal Service will be held at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, Monday, July 6, 2026 at 10: 00 AM. Interment to follow in Spring Hill Memorial Park.
